Why The Rewrite?

Well if Murray wouldn't sign off on the script, clearly it would need a rewrite, yes? Just a thought as to why we went to rewrites this summer.

  1. It's a damn shame Bill Murray has decided to pass on the latest installment of the GHOSTBUSTERS franchise... However, the movies success doesn't have to be hedged on the account of Murrays absence. The third installment could easily be as clever, and original as the first if the pen holders who are involved take just a few small suggestions based on observation. First of all, move the MPAA rating up a notch. PG movies are basically kids movies now days. A solid PG-13 would motivate the crowds who have followed the franchise since 1984 to continue to participate in viewing the third. Secondly, and I CANNOT stress this enough, put character comedians in, and leave the pop culture acts out. Put simply, I for one believe that Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory) would be perfect to dawn the proton pack as he has a comedic appearence, he can play scientist well, too. Casting Matthew McCaunhay is plain dumb. His movie style is far too generic for Ghostbusters. Dane Cook has the same dilemma, as he's funny, he's not smart funny. Lastly, and I can't stress this enough, SCARE PEOPLE. I know comedies are often hedged with a certain genre label, it is a ghost movie. It won't hurt ticket sales to freak out patrons with a few good scares. As this has been a long time coming, I
believe it should be all, or nothing. And judging the particular chain of Hollywood

onsense this summer, I say lets get serious!! Thoughts, comments? Ket

  3. Personally I think jack black would suit Ghostbusters down to a tee, and with Murray's absence would be a good replacement comedy wise. Gb3 can work and work well if the story is written well and the budget generous. I mean if they can make mib 3 work then why not especially after the car crash of a production team they had. Roll on the teaser, come on Ghostbusters RAH RAH RAH

  4. One other thing let's just call the film Ghostbusters not Ghostbusters 3

  5. No offense, but NO JACK BLACK. He doesn't have a clue about comedy aside from spoof comedy, and voice overs for awful Disney styled cartoons. I would want a character who isn't limited to 1 liners, and sterile fart jokes. It should be someone who can play off everything, and isn't affraid to not be the funniest one there. You know?

  6. I think that if they use smart, funny people and not funny famous people the movie will be great. Continue to focus on the combination of science and blue coller. Have some really great scares and get back to the original score style music. The creepy and pop types from the original sound track.

  9. I personally think the actor who plays Sheldon in big bang theory would be a great replacement for egon as the brains

    1. Right? Not too rip off the big .bang theory cast much more, but if it somehow becomes more like a remake, how about Johnny Galecki (Dr. Leonard Hoffstadter TBBT) to do Rick Morranis ( Louis Tulley GB 1&2)? I mean, he has the height for it!!

  10. Just as I thought.... it's going to be a reboot. If they don't get some good actors it's farewell to a beloved memory of a great story... please, please, PLEASE DON'T RUIN IT WITH YOUNG MORONS WHO DON'T KNOW COMEDY!!!
