Murray's Putting Those Old Cheap Moves on Us (Plus, a Story We Don't Believe)

Murray stayed on message yesterday at the London Film Festival premiere of "Hyde Park on Hudson", restating that his GB3 involvement would be reliant upon a great script.

Murray was quoted by entertainmentwise.com as saying "I don't know, they gotta, it's got to be good, they have to write something good." His methods are sloppy and our conclusions are highly questionable.

Meanwhile, another story has caught our eye, a piece of shoddy reporting from newsflavor.com that seems to be the worst kind of popular tripe. Take this one with a salt shaker because the article touts "HD photos" in a clear grab for clicks, has no sourcing and a few misspellings. Regardless, there is a sliver of new information in the Aykroyd quote they present...

“It’s coming along great. Really great. Were so excited. We just got some new writers in, because the original writers just weren’t producing what we were looking for in the time frame we needed. Good news is, . . now there’s some new fresh idea’s and takes, the bad part is, . . now, . . it’s just kinda going back to scratch, ya know. . Which sounds frustrating, but it’s a helluva lot better than a bad film. We’re really trying to capture what made the first so great. That’s so important. But from what I’ve seen so far, it looks very promising. There’s a great new spirit to the stuff that coming out now. Then, once we have something, . . . it’s about gettin all the guys together and showing them the final and getting there okay on it. So, . . . that will probably will be the hardest part of the whole damn thing. getting everybody together, . . . ya know. Bill ( Bill Murray ) will probably be the hardest sell. But I have a great feeling about this one. I don’t think it’s gonna be long guys before we have something everybody can give there thumbs up too. So keep those fingers crossed. "

So... when was this interview? Are there new writers coming in on top of Etan Cohen? Or is Aykroyd referring to Etan Cohen? And why the plural... "writers". Has someone joined Etan Cohen? Sounds like Etan really scrapped whatever had been built before him if it is going from scratch. Wonder what the scrapped script looks like... can anyone get their hands on it for us?
