We have a special treat for you today, two Murray interviews from the Monuments Men European tour that have the man of mystery commenting on potential Ghostbusters 3 involvement. Thanks to international fans of the GB3 Blog, we've got translations for you as well!
First up, from a Monuments Men red carpet in Italy, Bill was asked about his third movie intentions...
Italian translation via GB3 Blog contributor Davide:
BM: Ghostbusters was the most spectacular comedy, and it's thanks to the fans that the movie is still remember and loved."GB3 Blog reader Andreas found an interview from last year when Bill Murray was shooting in Germany. It's written in German, so here's the translation:
Q: Will you be in Ghostbusters 3?
BM: We'll see...sometimes things come at you without thinking too much about it... they come, they keep coming.
Q: With your desire for privacy - do you regret making blockbusters like Ghostbusters? So a "we'll see" and a half "maybe." Not too shabby.
BM: No, because the first movie was great. Especially the first 45 minutes were really funny. Very talented people have worked on it. Some time ago I got the script for a third part. I read the first 20 pages and thought, "My goodness, that's not even close to what we've done."
Q: But would you do a third part?
BM: One half of me says: "Maybe I should do it" and the other says, "We've already done two - and the second was worse than the first one." The important thing is to keep your ambition, not just give the monkey sugar. But I do not know if it will happen.
Another interview from May 2012 (around "Moonrise Kingdom"), GB3 part at the end:
ReplyDelete"It is ultimately a question of the script. Until now there is not one that makes sense to me. [...] I've never made a movie just because of the money. So it remains."
