Ex-Deadline chief Nikki Finke has sources saying that the directors behind "The Lego Movie", "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs", "21 Jump Street" and "Clone High" are in talks to replace Ivan Reitman as the directors of "Ghostbusters 3".
'Ghostbusters 3' directors? My sources say Phil Lord & Chris Miller ('Lego Movie', '21 Jump Street') in talks to replace Ivan Reitman.

If true, and the deal pans out, the third film would find itself with two of the hottest comedy directors in Hollywood, having come off of a surprise hit "Jump Street" franchise and the globally loved mega-blockbuster "Lego Movie". Their list of frequent acting collaborators is also very strong, especially when considering their producing involvement with Brooklyn 99, Awesometown and How I Met Your Mother. Were the duo to helm a third Ghostbusters, it would be a safe bet that least one of the actors pictured above would be involved.Manic comedy, oversized food items attacking cities, saving the world and pseudo-science are all under their belt. Only the duo's horror chops have yet to be explored. These directors would bring in an injection of fresh excitement that was not present when a declining-in-quality Judd Apatow was being rumored for the project. Plus, remember the time last month that actual Lego Ghostbuster action figures were announced and everyone exploded with glee? The Ghostbusters 3 Blog remembers.
What are your thoughts on the duo as Ghostbusters directors? Thanks to Davide for the tip off.
You want my opinion on this? I'll let Peter Venkman summarise it for me: "Oh Johnny....did you back the wrong horse('s). Clear enough? lol
ReplyDeleteAnd those list of actors continue to make me vomit. No improvements there....if ever.
Very alarming that these gentlemen couble be the successors to the great Mr Reitman. It's ticking all the boxes of a corporate controlled commercial cash generator machine. Fact is Sony will hire anybody to do this bloody movie. Anybody now! I'd ask Wes Anderson myself (if we really want to scrape the barrells bottom). I'm no fan of his snooty pretencious comedies but at least there's a chance if they did hire him, perhaps they'd also bag Bill Murray (a faithful Anderson collaborator) in the process lol
You mad bro?
DeleteNot exactly no. This movie sure is. And so are you if you actually think it's turning out "great" lol
DeleteI mean really, is there any need to deliberately insult somebody like that when I'm expressing a friendly opinion? If you can't seriously discuss intelligently (and politely) maybe you should fuck off and go watch "Lego Movie" or "Cloudy with..." instead. "Impeccable" comedy taste there pal lol
It's all rumors. All just rumors. All this is being "tweeted" and Facebooked along with what everybody's dog just ate for lunch.
ReplyDeleteSomebody needs to watch DEADLINE: The Nikki Finke story

The amount of hate towards this movie baffles me. I love ghostbusters and I’m thrilled to see it again on the big screen. I personally don’t care who’s in it, what it’s about, or any of that other shit. Just give me another two hours with proton packs and Ecto and I’ll die happy.
