A Legendary Ghostbusters 3 Special Effects Team Potentially Revealed

The guys at the Cross the Streams podcast asked Robert Englund, the guy best known for playing Freddy Krueger, a joke question about how Freddy would kill the Ghostbusters (hear his answer and the full audio here). What they didn't expect was for the legend to start dropping Ghostbusters 3 production information, to the tune of personally confirming that work will be done in Cleveland and that several of his special effects buddies would be working on the film.

It is unclear in the audio which of the three (or four?) people Englund refers to when he says that they'll be working on Ghostbusters 3, and which are just part of a previous story, but included in his run-on sentence is....

Steve Johnson: Best known for special effects and makeup on projects like Videodrome and Spider-Man 2, but not credited for any work on Hellboy... which Englund makes a big point of touting as part of Steve Johnson's resume. Perhaps he meant to drop a different name? Or does Englund just have Johnson's imdb past a little muddled?
Bob Kurtzman: Who has had similar roles to Johnson in Army of Darkness, Tremors, From Dusk Till Dawn and Tusk. Also a founder of KNB FX group, responsible for zombies on The Walking Dead.
Robert Hall: Known for make-up/special effects work on comedies and horror films alike, including Area 51, Paranormal Activity films, John Dies at the End, Pineapple Express and MTV's Teen Wolf.

While this information is extremely second hand, the most important thing to take from the potential special effects team is that they all have a long and storied history with PRACTICAL horror effects and creature design, something joyous to see in a time where Hollywood is extremely CGI-heavy.

Meanwhile, Ernie Hudson spoke again about Ivan Reitman's whispers to him at the Draft Day premiere.

Some choice Hudson quotes:

“He [Reitman] hugged me and said the movie’s definitely happening.”

On if he'll be in it: “They always put my name in, like I’m a sure thing. And it’s true. I’m easy.”

Ha-ha, oh Ernie.
