An interesting turn-about for potential Ghostbusters 3 director Ivan Reitman. After signing on to several new projects a few months ago, Reitman has declared his focus on new properties for the time being in an interview with Collider. He then went ahead and suggested that Ghostbusters should be "remade", which fits with none of what we have heard so far.
REITMAN: "Well, I’d like to go forward and make new things. I think Ghostbusters probably should be remade, if we can get it all right. We’re working on it, so we’ll see."
So, is Etan Cohen scripting a remake instead of a threequel, casting a new Venkman, et. all? Or is Reitman mixing up "reboot" with "remake"? Or does he mean "rewritten"?
Whatever the case, Collider interviewer Christina Radish does us no favors in delving further.
Special thanks to Davide Passaia, who seems to be 6 hours ahead of the curve at all times with tips!

thanks! But i think that Reitman intended "reboot". GB3 IS a reboot: the old gang who pass the torch to a new team. Also, Aykroyd's last interview hints at their desire to have Murray onboard.
ReplyDeleteWhy have Murray participating in a remake?

I don't care what they do at this point, as long as their are ghosts and busting.. and humor!
