Ghostbusters 3 Rumors Reanimated by Bloody Disgusting

"Ghostbusters 3" has been bordering on death since Dan Aykroyd laid down a 4 month countdown in December, warning that his involvement will be no longer on the table if  a green-light decision on the project could not be made.

In our first bit of Ghostbusters news since that ultimatum was set forth, Bloody Disgusting has a nameless source that claims an animated sequel might still be on the table for consideration. Meanwhile ComingSoon.net was quick to check-in with the studio for a fast dismissal of a Pixar-like project. CS states that Sony folks aren't looking into animation and are still trying for a live-action film.

This is not the first time we've heard talk of an animated or CGI GB3 --flash back to April 4th, 2007-- when Harold Ramis was quoted on the matter..

"We've talked to Columbia about doing a fully and digitally animated Ghostbusters and that's another possibility."

Considering how the Ninja Turtles went from live-action 80's movies to anime-influenced cartoons, then to a CGI film, Ghostbusters may follow a similar format to keep the franchise alive. Or at least keep it un-dead.

Whaddya say, animated Ghostbusters film... yey or nay?

  1. Personally, i would not mind a new animated series... maybe go the CG route this time... kinda how the current Ninja Turtles animated series is on Nickelodeon is going.
Only keep it dark and humorous like the old series started out as back in the 80s before moms started crying "it's too scary!" bleh.. shut up parents..
