The Independent spoke to Bill Murray during his Grand Budapest Hotel/Monuments Men press tour and received another new comment on why he won’t commit to a Ghostbusters 3.
BM: “We made the first Ghostbusters. It was one of the great entertainments of all time, then we made a second one. It was … OK. Right? So what are we going to do? Rush to make a third one?”
The Independent went on to say that Bill cited The Godfather Part III as an example of a belated sequel that flopped.
BM: “I find that you don’t really lose by saying ‘no’ in showbusiness."

Except that you do lose, as evidenced by the loss of Harold Ramis. Because of Murray's artsy fartsy pretension and Akroyd's ham fisted attempts to turn a character driven movie like ghostbusters into a premise driven franchise in which people can be switched out for each new flavor of the month, we've officially lost the opportunity to see all four guys together again.
