February 4th, production design, mass hysteria!

January has been a benevolent month to all Ghostheads.

First came the astonishing announcement of Jason Reitman's new Ghostbusters movie, a brand new live action that will be set in the first two movies universe and will continue the story of the original Ghostbusters without acknowledging the controversial 2016's reboot. Then a teaser trailer apppeared online few hours later, showing us the beloved (and rusty) Ecto 1.

A few days after Sony confirmed that this looooooong awaited sequel will be gracing the silver screen on July 10, 2020.

Obviously, casting rumors started spreading: will the originals be in it? Will they not? Will Murray put on the jumpsuit again or he'll be trot along a golf course? Some voices told the media that Jason Reitman is looking for four teenagers and an audition tape by the young Sarah Abbott has been reportedly circulating on internet.
We'll not reporrt anything cast-wise until something is officially confirmed.

What is sure is that a production designer has been found.

François Audouy will start working on the Ghostbusters second sequel tomorrow. He has some great works under his belt, one of them is Logan (2017). He'll lend his hand in finding locations, designing and creating set and props and whatever it takes to bring the new Ghostbusters movie to life. He's a good choice; we already saw with the teaser that Reitman Jr. respect the legacy; the teaser final shot was a practical effect, like many of the original movie FX.

Hearing this news we can say that, finally, Ghostbusters 3 (we'll call it this way until an official title well be revealed) has escaped Production  Hell. We have many exciting months ahead, fellow GB fans. Brace yourselves, it will be a fun wild ride.

A quick personal note. You'll notice that this article is signed The Traveler and not The Destructor. Well, this is the new recruit writing. I'm an Italian guy who followed this blog since GB3 was first touted, sending The Destructor some links to rumors and articles about the much talked sequel. I'm now officially onboard to help him following the production from its early stages to première.
You know what they say: bustin' makes me feel good!
