Well, that's something you don't see every day.

Or every week.
Or every month.
Sometimes it takes two or three months, but finally here we are.

Let's address the elephant in the room: we've not been very active on this blog, right?
The excuse is, there hasn't been movements on the franchise either.

Jason is really being very secretive about his little supernatural boy, so we have aaaaaaaall the time to digest and examine every little tiny detail of every little tiny nugget percolating from Mama Sony's and poppy Jason's shield.

So, let's start recapping everything that has happened since October 2019.

If you've been living under a rock, on December 6th Vanity Fair released an article with the first characters description and some hints of the plot.

Let's set the record straight: Callie's father died and left her (and her two kids) an old farmhouse full of Ghostbusting equipment. Who's this misterious father?

Well, the trailer gives us a more detailed look.
On December 9th, the first official trailer was released.

Let's it sink in.

THE FIRST EVER TRAILER FOR THE BLOODY MUCH AWAITED GHOSTBUSTERS SEQUEL FANS HAVE BEEN CLAMORING FOR SINCE 1989, WAS RELEASED.

That was out first step back into that world. We spent years trying to imagine it, trying to come up with theories, dreams, guesses. That was about to end.

No more "what if?".

From that point on, there was no going back.

Here's our first foray into the world of GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE

Could it be? A piece of cinematic history brought back to life?

Wow, it still gives me the goosebumps.

Numerous sources dismembered the trailer to pieces, analizyng it.

Creepy soundtrack? Checked.
New (lovable, I must say) carachters? Checked.
New interesting location? Checked.
Spores, moulds and fungus? Checked.
Old relics from a glorious past? Cool car? Unsolved misteries? Triple checked.

I'll not go into details on how the trailer was everything we could dream of and much more. It had EVERYTHING.
And try to lure me out to the convinction that those kids aren't Spengler's grandkids.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.....nice shooting Tex!!! And nice shooting too, Ecto Polaroid Goggles!"

Christmas came and gone, with the Ghostheads still in awe, having already received their Christmas gift from Jason Claus.

January brought us another little gem. This nice Variety article summed up a set visit by correspondent Anthony Breznican.

He met none other that Bill Murray. Who made him wearing a new proton pack. On the set of a legit, honest to God Ghostbusters sequel.

That sound like......like walking on a Ghostbusters' set and meeting Bill Murray. I can't imagine something better.

He even shared a pic of him wearing one of the new (old?) packs. This was also the first confirmation of the original Ghostbusters presence in the movie, along with Annie Potts and Sigourney Weaver.

Things quieted down for a bit, then New York Toy Fair splashed us with a huge amount of Ghostbusters merchandise from the new movie.
Action figures, slime, Ecto 1 models, slime, new ghosts pictures, slime, proton packs that, for a change, ARE toys. Everything you imagine, you name it.

    Bienvenido, Muncher!

You can find all sorts of recaps and galleries on internet, we're too late for these kind of things.
A really nice revelation tough, was the comeback of the first Kenner Ghostbusters action figures and, courtesy of Hasbro Pulse, a freaking cool reproduction of the new modified neutrona wand.

This last piece was introduced by the Reitmans themselves, who brought onstage the real prop before introducing the Hasbro's really faithful reproduction. Here's the video, Ivan and Jason enter the stage at 3.10 circa.

And now?

Now we're in the middle of a global plague called COVID-19 , waiting for the storm to pass and people to heal.

Many movies have delayed their opening; at the moment of writing Ghostbusters: Afterlife is still set to open on July 10th.

We'll try to keep you updated but surely it will be much better to see it in a crowded cinema in safer times than to respect the initial release date with people fearing for their safety.

One thing is sure: Jason has cooked up something very special: it will be worth the wait.

Stay safe out there!
