We've got three!!!!

It was a couple of weeks ago that we reported rumors of casting choices and now, finally, Jason Reitman has confirmed via Twitter some of the names that were floating around.

Meet the family are the words used by Reitman Jr to show the world the threequel's main cast.

It's an impressive cast, that's for sure.
Carrie Coon is said to take on the role of a single mother who moves back home in a small town, with Finn Wolfhard playing her son and Grace McKenna her daughter (supposedly the role of the science akward girl Sarah Abbot auditioned for).

They all have worked on really good products.
Carrie Coon starred in Gone Girls, Widows, Avengers Infinity War on the silver screen and The Leftovers, Fargo and The Sinner for the television.

We all know that Finn Wolfhard had his breakthrough role in Stranger Things, then he was cast as Richies Tozier in 2017's IT. We'll see him in IT Part 2 and The Turning; the fact that all these projects have a supernatural theme gives us another reason to believe that Ghostbusters 3 is in good hands,

As for Grace Mckenna, she too has a lists of features and tv series who space from horror to comedy (a good resume for a Ghostbusters movie). She can be seen in horror features like Amityville: the Awakening, Annabelle Comes Home, big budget movies like Ready Player One and Captain Marvel and sit com like Young Sheldon, Fuller House and the supernatural series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Looks like the characters breakdowns who popped up the previous months were correct, and if casting goes accordingly we'll get to see Finn and Jenna Ortega will meet at some point in the story and become good friends.
It's still unknown if this family is tied to one of the original Ghostbusters, if they're Shandor's heirs or if they're completely unrelated to the previous movies' characters and only happens to have been touched by its events.

You know, maybe Carrie saw a furcoat coming to life and has been afraid of pets since then.

No words yet on the return of the original cast. Finger crossed for it to be the next chunk of cast confirmed, although we suspect that this kind of announcement is more suited for the Ghostbusters Fan Fest in June.
