When GB3 is ready to shoot, who ya gonna hire?

Welcome back, Ghostheads!
As we get close to the first day of shooting (June, 25th) the crew who'll handle the production is starting to take shape.
Let's immediately dive into the names! We already mentioned Production Designer François Audouy (‘The Wolverine,’ ‘Logan’). He's joined by Supervising Art Director Tom Reta and Visual Effects Supervisor Sheena Duggal.

They both have a solid string of box office hits with Reta having worked on The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Cabin in the Woods, Red Dawn, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Blackhat, Transformers: The Last Knight and RampageDuggal  have been a regular Marvel collaborator, having worked on Spider-Man 3, Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Agent Carter, Doctor Strangeand Venom.
Last but not least we have longtime Reitman's collaborator Cinematoghrapher Eric Steelberg.
He worked with Jason on Juno, Up in the Air, Young Adult, Labor Day, Men,Women and Children, Tully, The Front Runner and followed the shooting of the Ghostbusters' sequel teaser trailer.

We must say, this is an impressive crew. They all have worked with both big budget heavily FX oriented franchises and intimate smaller movies, there's hope that they'll help Jason bring to life his vision in the best of ways. That's all we know about the technical crew and is with some trepidation that we're going to report some casting rumors who surfaced as recently as two days ago.

The first names were mentioned by Variety; the site source's says that Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things, It, It Part 2) and Carrie Coon (Gone Girl, Avengers: Infinity War, Widows) are in talks to star as a single mother and her son who moves back home with their family (this line up with the movie's early plot reports).
Few days later, That Hashtag Show is reporting the rumor that Jenna Ortega (Iron Man 3, Stuck in the Middle, Jane the Virgin, Elena of Avalor) is being eyed for what is essentialy can be described as the new movie's Venkman as the reported and updated breakdonws recite:

GIRL (Female/12/Lead) – She is off the charts smart and struggles with interpreting and expressing emotions. She speaks with a flat delivery that make her observations humorous. Her science acumen proves invaluable throughout the story as she navigates her complicated family dynamics. Sister to TEEN BOY. ***This role is the true lead of the movie***
BOY (Male/13/Lead) – He is a passionate enthusiast for fantasy and conspiracy theories. He is all heart and approaches everything with unbridled excitement for the unknown. He is often narrating life in real time, adding “descriptive color” to the people and situations he encounters. He meets GIRL and immediately becomes friends. Likely diverse.
TEEN BOY (Male/15/Lead) – He is fifteen, but tells people he’s seventeen. He’s passionate about auto-mechanics. he’s often trying to help his little sister (GIRL) navigate the world as she struggles with traditional friendships. His family moves to town and he’s immediately smitten with TEEN GIRL. (Interested in Finn Wolfhard)
TEEN GIRL (Female/17/Lead) – Works at a local American Graffiti style carhop on roller skates. She’s cool and quick witted. She meets TEEN BOY and begins a flirtation that turns into a real friendship. (Interested in Jenna Ortega)

Are they going to be the next generation of paranormal investigators and eliminators? From the looks of things seems like GIRL will be the Egon, BOY will be the Ray, TEEN BOY the Winston and TEEN GIRL the Peter.
Will they become Ghostbusters in this movie? Will we have to wait until Ghostbusters 4 to see the grown up kids donning the proton packs?
Will GB3 feature retired old Ghostbusters along an already active new team and the kids acting as the third generation of busters? Only time will tell.

Let's keep in mind that all these artists are said to be in talks or eyed for a role, meaning that other names could land the job at the last minute; it is still unclear if and how the original Ghostbusters will fit in the sequel.

That said, this is turning out to be a really interesting movie. It has the tools, a solid crew working behind the scenes, and it (maybe) has the talents to pull off a fun, witty, emotional, maybe scary tribute to one of the greates comedies of the eighties.

That's all for now, folks. We'll update you as rumors will be confirmed and official announcement will be made.

See ya!
